The Metrotown Metro Transit Authority is set to begin the construction of a new METEor station at a vacant former railway property in Vaughan Mills.
The TTC has been in talks with Vaughan Mills Community Association over the past year to redevelop the property, but there has been no agreement to develop the site.
The MetrotOWN Metropost station would be the TTC’s first METEo station in the city.
It would be located between the TTC and Vaughan Mills GO Transit Station.
Metropost, which means “the next train,” would be one of three new stations the TTC will build at the site of a former railway.
The first is a new GO station at Spadina Avenue and Bloor Street West, while the other two are planned for the Scarborough Town Centre and Vaughan Metropolitan Centre GO stations.
The Vaughan Metropos also include a transit facility for the GO Train.
It will be located near the Vaughan Metropolitan Transit Centre.
