The average price for a home is $2,853, up $10 from 2016 and up 13.7 percent from the year before.
The average rent is $1,846, up 12.7% from 2016 but down 2.2 percent from 2015.
The Census Bureau said median household assets are down by $6,500 from 2016, with a median of $150,000.
The median annual household income for the U.P. is $63,200, up 2.7%.
The median age of households is now 35.
In the past year, the nation’s median home price has climbed 2.8 percent, according to the Census Bureau.
The nation’s unemployment rate is 6.2%, down from 8.6% in December 2016.
The economy has expanded for a fifth straight month, adding 227,000 jobs in the fourth quarter.
The unemployment rate in 2018 is 3.9%, down 0.6 percentage points from the fourth-quarter of 2016.
