In the months since The War On Christmas was published, the authors have been inundated with requests to reprint their book.
“I’m pretty much done with this book,” says Susan Cain, a former senior editor at the New York Times who was recently fired.
The War, Cain says, “will probably be the last book I publish.”
The War’s cover art is similar to a parody of the popular animated Disney film, which Cain says is not intended to be taken seriously.
“The War On Christmastime is not satirical,” Cain says.
“There’s no attempt to offend anybody.”
The first chapter is a straightforward tale of the American holiday.
It begins with an early December day, in a rural area of Georgia, and the narrator’s wife, a widow who wants to be a farmer but fears she won’t make enough money to buy enough food to feed her family.
“This is the hardest thing in my life,” she writes, recounting her own struggles to make ends meet.
She writes that, in the end, she bought a cow and sent it off to graze for her family’s cattle.
She says she got a job, but not enough to feed all of her family and had to buy more.
But that didn’t stop her from going to church, and she went to church more frequently, to avoid the cold, she says.
That Christmas, she remembers thinking: “I’ve been so cold that I don’t know if I’m going to have enough money for Christmas dinner.”
“Christmas is so easy for me to say no to Christmas,” Cain adds.
“But it’s also very hard to say yes to Christmas.”
The subtitle of the book is, “The Most Dangerous Christmas.”
But Cain says it doesn’t take a scientist to recognize the threat.
“When you talk about Christmas in a society where there are millions of people who don’t have enough to eat, that means that millions of children are going to die because of starvation,” she says, referring to the fact that nearly 1 in 5 children in the United States has at least one major health problem.
Cain says that while she believes Christmas is the most important holiday for the American people, she also believes it’s an important holiday because it offers a powerful opportunity for the U.S. to improve its environmental health.
The most important message of The War is that if we don’t get serious about climate change, there is no way we’re going to make a difference in the future, Cain said.
“If we don.t stop doing this, we’re not going to be able to solve climate change,” she adds.
She concludes her book by saying that, “the only way to avoid another war is to start thinking about the climate change issue in a very clear, serious way.”
“The War on Christmastice” is available at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com.
The book is a collaboration between Cain and author Stephen Miller, whose most recent book, The Great American Sleepover, is published by HarperCollins.
Cain and Miller met in 2010 when Cain was a young journalist who worked for The New York Post.
They began collaborating on a book about the holidays, but Cain says they didn’t know each other at the time.
The couple began talking about what it would take to publish the book, and eventually, the idea was born.
“We knew we had to do something, because it was a big topic, and there were so many books about it,” Cain said, adding that Miller had never heard of the war.
Cain said that she and Miller have been friends since they were both in high school and working at the Post.
“It’s not really a subject that we talk about much, because we don,t have any history with it,” she said.
Cain has written several other books about American culture, including The American Dream, and The New Yorker has published an article about her.
She also wrote The First American Christmas, a memoir, and was a guest writer for the book The End of Christmas.
“Every time I look at The War And Other Writings,” Cain writes in the introduction to The War and Other Writes, “I feel the need to say thank you to Stephen Miller for this wonderful book that I am sharing with you.
It’s just a joy to be with him.
I hope that you enjoy it.”
The book was published by Oxford University Press, with an advance solicited by the Pulitzer Prize Committee.
The first edition of The American Christmas sold more than 1 million copies.
Cain’s co-author, Miller, is a co-founder of the nonprofit Center for American Progress, which he chairs.
Miller is the author of The Great Divide, an examination of the divide between rich and poor in the U
